This course would enable you to do the following:
1. Install the Solaris 10 operating
system using quick install.
2.
Understand and use UNIX administration commands.
3.
Discuss Suns client-server environment and other important system administration
terms and concepts.
4.
Navigate through the Solaris file system using the command line interface.
5.
Perform basic user security tasks (who, id, last, chown, chgrp).
6.
Use data access control to enhance file security (chmod).
7.
Employ shell features to streamline command execution in the Bourne Shell.
8.
Use maintenance commands to simplify system administration (find, cron, at).
9.
Identify partitions and monitor disk space usage.
10.
Verify partitions on disks (format).
11.
Comprehend NFS distributed computing file system concepts (mount, df, du).
12.
Perform Software Package Administration.
13.
Understand the Solaris 8 boot process and how to change system states.
14.
Perform system backup and recovery
